Hello and welcome. We are Matthew and Louisa, our passions in life are our family, our dogs, and our farm where we farm free range pigs. We have a full and busy family life where we integrate our family with the dogs and the farm.
Our passion is our dogs of which we have three breeds Akitas, Alaskan Malamute, and Siberian Husky. Both of us and our family members show our dogs and we run Appledore Ring craft Club. Our children attend the ring craft where they handle some of the younger dogs we own. The great commitment we put into our dogs is only seen in a small part at the shows we attend. As any owner will tell you one dog is a great commitment and we are honored to own many.
I, Louisa, have owned the Shykiss kennel name since 1996 and all of our Akitas are known by this affix. When Matthew and I met Matthew already had Siberian Huskies and Malamutes and we thought of the kennel name Icetrax. Despite all the dogs being located on our farm in kent we thought the two kennel names more befitting of the different breeds than one. We pride ourselves in breeding top quality show dogs as well as socialized, happy dogs equally suited to being pets.
To get to where we are today we have both invested large amounts of time and energy gaining knowledge in the breeds we own. Not just basic breed knowledge but knowledge in fields such as Showing, Show Etiquette and specific training methods. We are more than happy to share this knowledge with anyone who asks, or even just to sit down and have a doggy chat!
