Welcome to Whitewreath Kennels. We are Charlie & Geof Iason and have owned the Akita since our founding in 2001, although many months of research went into the breed before making our first purchase. We have been extremely lucky to have the help and guidance of some of the UK's leading Akita Breeders and Exhibitors in the first few vital years of establishing our Kennels and for which we will be eternally grateful.

One of our first Akita's 'Tara' was purchased for us by my late Nana 'Eva' as a loving companion and potential brood, we were extremely lucky as in our eyes she did an excellent job of both. Tara produced for us our first Akita litter born late 2004, sired by the handsome 'Champion Anshee Fur Ever'.

As with any hobby you learn more and more each day, with time we looked deeper into the pedigree and confirmation of the Akita, and realized we liked a certain 'type' and decided to pursue this venture, leading to the purchase of our Foundation bitch 'Anshee The Bees Knees at Whitewreath'. 'Pru' as she is affectionately known at home was purchased from the very successful 'Anshee' Kennels in 2004 and it was love at first sight. Her excellent head piece and superb movement blew us away. We were lucky enough to be introduced to Pru's dam, the superb 'Can Champion Matsou de Lauclair of Anshee ROMPX' who was imported to the UK from Canada by Anshee Akita's in 1998. Crystal proved to be a big hit here in the UK and was named Top Brood Bitch 1999 in the USA.

Pru produced our 2nd litter for us in 2005 with our stunning male, also purchased from the Anshee Kennels - 'Anshee Let 'Em Talk for Whitewreath'. This litter resulted in our stunning young bitch 'Whitewreath Truly Gifted' who in our opinion excels in breed type. Unfortunately for us 'Saffy' never did take to the show ring, but did take to obedience which is where she really shines.

Saffy went on to produce for us some excellent quality babies, all consistent in type, strong bone, superb heads and awesome rears. She is the Dam of 'Whitewreath Hotstuff at Toshiko' who qualified for Crufts first time out with a 1st place in Junior Bitch, under the well respected Judge Arlene Clure of the world famous Redwitch affix. Saffy is also the Dam to our two new rising stars 'Whitewreath Stop N Stare' who also qualified for Crufts first time out, and his litter sister 'Whitewreath's Eye Kandy'.

Eight years down the line and we are still learning but enjoying this magical breed. We take great pride and care in our dogs, and put hard work and dedication into each mating we do, and litter we raise. We are proud to see our Whitewreath babies doing well for not only ourselves, but for other kennels too.

With 2010 already upon us, we look forward to what we hope to be a successful year. 'Whitewreath Stop N Stare' started the year on a good note qualifying for Crufts 2011 at the very first Championship show of the year. In April our new baby boy 'Anshee Heads N Tails over Whitewreath' made his show debut taking Best Minor Puppy In Show, he later went on to gain the Reserve Dog CC at Blackpool! Our newest mebers joined the team in the Summer, we look forward to the rest of the show year!
