Travis was our pick puppy back from the litter bred by Jill Hopkins at Travistock Akitas. He is Sired by our Champion boy Baelor and out of Jill's Champion Travistock Kiacis (Kylie). We were so pleased with this litter that we really couldn't resist the opportunity of this little man joining our team, and we are so thankful to Jill for letting Travis come back to Whitewreath as our pick puppy.

Travis is very much the clone of his Sire and I think that is why we found him so appealing. As with any breeding program the breeder must not wear rose tinted glasses and be aware of the faults in their lines, we looked at this breeding an realised Kylie could bring a lot to the table especially in terms of type.

Travis has the most beautiful head, fabulous bone, rear angles to die for. He has a fabulous coat in a gorgeous red tone. We are very excited to see how he grows and comes on in the following months.

Travis made his show debut at 8 months at the Akita Ass. Championship Show where he won Minor Puppy Dog, following this up with Best Puppy Dog in fabulous company, losing out to his cousin Phoenix for Best Puppy In Show. He went from stength to stength, taking Best Puppy In Breed at his next show BUBA. He then went one better at Manchester, his last puppy show, going Best Puppy In Breed and topping it with Puppy Utility Group 3. His first shows in Junior Dog proved to be a success with Travis gaining his first Reserve CC at just 15 months of age.

Travis took his 2nd Reserve CC at the Nationals and the following week, tragedy struck... Our handsome, young, vibrant boy was gone. Our hearts broke and we struggled to heal. With us for the shortest time, he's left foot prints on our hearts.

Thankfully my Co-Breeder Hollie had used Travis on Karma just a few months prior, so we take some love from the fact he leaves behind 2 Daughters and 3 Sons who we look forward to watching grow. We want to wish our dear friend Ross all the very best of luck with his Travis & Karma Daughter - 'Eska' (Whitewreath Sugar Coated for Inuita) who will make her show debut late Summer and hopefully follow in Daddies footsteps.
